Lazy

Hallo everyone! wave

I'm back. And I feel super duper lazy.

It's so hard to get back into the swing of things after a long 2-week break. Now it's back to work... I have tons of mails to reply, and more than 300 blog posts to go through in my Google reader... surprise

My mind is such a mess at the moment. I had a scare last night when my heart rate went hyper, I thought I was going to to have a heart attack. I really hope I'll be able to get back to my blog-hopping days. School starts next week and I'm not looking forward to the jams it's going to create. 2010 please be a good year.

Geez, it's only 11.00am and I feel sleepy already...yawn

Home Is Where The Heart Is

It sure feels good to be back home again :) Everything looks the same, the plants look bigger and the black stray cat is still around too though he's much bigger than last time I saw him.

My dad will be able to go home from the hospital soon, so that's one great news. It's a huge sigh of relief to know that. I was so worried about his condition until I actually got home and saw him for myself. I'd like to thank everyone for their kind prayers. I really appreciate it.

I'm so glad he's still able to recognize me, I was afraid he might not which would have been sad to say the least. He lost a lot of weight, in fact so much weight that it's frightening; I couldn't even recognize him at first :( But that's not important cos at least I get to spend Christmas with my dad and my siblings at home. That means a lot to me and it has been a while since I last spent Christmas at home with everyone.

We haven't even put up the Christmas tree... I doubt there'll one this year. With dad not feeling well nobody is really in the mood. It's gonna be a subdued Christmas celebration for us. I don't have the time to go shopping so the kids will not be getting any presents... I promised them I'd get them something once things are back to normal. It's hard to have that shopping spirit when your mind is occupied with something else.

Besides shopping for presents can really give me a headache. I remember last year, I was out almost the entire day running from one mall to another looking for gifts. It would have been so much easier and less painful for my feet if they had one of those Bass Pro Gift Card over here, maybe get everyone a personalized photo card to Bass Pro Shops which can be found at GiftCardMall.com.

And just in case you're wondering what Gift Card Mall™ is, well they're like an online shopping mall with loads of great brands for you to chose your gift without the hassle of actually stepping out the house. Like I said earlier, it would have been so much kinder to my feet! We really should have something like this here.

Maybe next year during Christmas I just might try this Gift Card Mall out and see if I can find something online for everyone without actually having to go out. This year, I'm just glad to be home with dad and the family and I'm going to enjoy every single moment till it's time to head on back to KL again.

And if I don't get a chance to personally drop by all your blogs, I'd like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a jolly New Year :D

You've Got Mail... Snail Mail

I don't know about you but I love getting mails... not bills and statements but real mails like letters and postcards. In addition, it helps add to my collection of stamps. That's why I joined Postcrossing recently.

Postcards Exchange

I received these two postcards a few days ago and they sure brought smiles to my face. My youngest boy was excited too. He said, 'wahhh, mommy got friends from Portugal and Netherlands??!'...

I'm using Emila's postcards for all my outgoing postcards because I just love and adore her illustrated postcards. These are some of her postcard designs which you can download from her site.

A Free Night With The Master!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Syndacast. All opinions are 100% mine.

The last time I went home was 8 months ago and I had a wonderful time then. Although I am ecstatic to be going home again but at the same time I feel sad as I know the situation this time around would be the complete opposite. I am not going for pleasure or a holiday this time though. I am also hoping for a miracle nonetheless.pray

And I have been humming to the tune of Adam Lambert's song, Time For Miracles. Well, there's no point feeling down over something that hasn't happen, sometimes one has to remain positive no matter how grave the situation is. OK, I am probably scaring you off. Don't be... it's just one of those moments in life where one is forced to face with over-whelming odds. Right now, I badly need your prayers so I can be strong.

Now to something that I know will bring cheer to the festive season. If you're a MasterCard cardholder, then here's a chance for you to enjoy a free night stay at hotels such as Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Grand Mercure, Mercure and many more. There is a promotion going on right now with 188 participating Accor Hotels in Asia that you shouldn't miss out. Just stay for 3 nights and get one night free. I'd say that's a pretty cool deal!

With the MasterCard Cardholder - Exclusive Deal, all bookings made from now until 31st January 2010 will also be eligible to win a 3 night stay with complimentary daily breakfast for two, in a private villa, that comes with its own swimming pool, Jacuzzi, private garden and separate living room, at the award winning 5 star Pullman Sanya Yalong Bay resort. And get this, there are 10 prizes to be won (yes, TEN) valued approximately at USD1,000 each!applause

Love Vs Hate

I haven't done a meme for quite sometime now and I feel like doing one. I know I said I'll be busy and all but I can still squeeze in a few posts before I leave. OK, OK... the truth is I badly need an in-between post so I had to grab it. Thanks, Marzie!biggrin

This time I'm gonna be 'nice' and tag a few of my favorite people. Here they are in no particular order :~

Anny from All I Want Is P...
Encik RnR from Rest & Rileks
Yoon See from Greener Pastures
Crystal from Choc Mint Girl
Mr HDR aka Bain from BainCardin
The great Emila from Emila's Illustrated Blog
The super annoying pest... ooops, I mean spaceman from Spiff The Spaceman

Now, let's get on with the meme...

I LOVE TO EAT:
Desserts... I wanna make some super yummy Pots De Crème!

I HATE TO EAT:
uncooked meat... I like my steak well done with no traces of blood on the plate.

I LOVE TO GO:
to places like nature parks, flea markets, bookshops, book fairs, craft shops, art galleries and my hometown.

I HATE TO GO:
to parties, meetings, smelly toilets at shopping malls, shops that don't have small change (why bother opening shops?)

I LOVE IT WHEN:
a plan comes together, it rains (even better if it snows), I get comments in my comment box, my kids help me with the house chores without being asked, movies end on a happy note, my assignments get approved, justice is served.

I HATE IT WHEN:
I get tons of spams in my inbox, I am grumpy, unwanted visitors, unknown calls, copycats, people who break their promise, traffic jams, my hair decides to be stubborn and doesn't wanna be combed the way I want it to be, the shops not having the size of the clothes/shoes/pants I want, food bits stuck between my teeth and I can't get it out, life becomes too complicated (... and the list goes on and on... I don't think I'll ever finish this meme if I were to continue).

I LOVE TO SEE:
clouds, sunsets, waves, flowers in bloom, fishes swimming in the water, water color paintings, pweety cupcakes.

I HATE TO SEE:
death, sickness, injustice, abuse, hypocrisy.

I HATE TO HEAR:
people telling me how to live my life.

I LOVE TO HEAR:
the sound of music!

Rush Hour

What a day it has been today! I was rushing from one bank to another. Sounds as if I'm so rich but that's not even the case, but how I wish! I hate doing' last minute' things but sometimes they can't be helped. Things happen beyond our control and it is exactly in these kind of situation I get all stressed out and panicky.atwitshand

I won't be able to blog-hop and leave comments as I'll be leaving for my hometown in a few days for some urgent family matters and I don't even know when I'll be back. That also means that I won't be able to check out all those custom kitchen cabinets Richmond that I've been meaning to since yesterday.

I've always loved kitchens, especially custom-designed ones and those from kitchen cabinets Richmond have some pretty simple kitchen designs that are suited for your entire house projects. If you're in search for some custom cabinets Richmond, then you simply must visit and explore their website for the many unique products that are on offer from granite tops to custom built cabinets.

On top of that, they guarantee the following:~

Ok, I think I'll just post this before I start babbling about custom-designed toilets next! heehee

F1 To WRC

I was reading the online news today when I stumbled upon this news on Kimi Raikkonen signing a one year contract with Citroen. It confused me coz I 've never heard of an F1 team called Citroen but as I read further, I found out that Citroen is a team in the World Rally Championship (WRC) and not Formula 1! LOL! Silly me. blush

Kimi was driving for Ferrari last season and he has been replaced by Fernando Alonso next season. Now, I'm not a fan of Alonso and having him drive for Ferrari really has put me off. Well, my interest in the sports has really taken a tumble ever since Michael Schumacher retired so I suppose it doesn't really make any difference who drives for the team. I have even taken the sports channel off my Astro subscription.

Perhaps I'll be watching more WRC instead of F1 after this. Good luck, Kimi! happy

The Biggest Loser Asia

What defines a quitter?

According to the dictionary, it means a person who gives up easily; defeatist, deserter, or shirker.

So, you quit on the 1st day of a reality show and then still say you're not a quitter, what the heck does that mean? I'm confused by Desmond's statement. Somehow he managed to give a new meaning to the show for being the 'biggest loser'.

If you're confused, well, I'm actually talking about the new reality show The Biggest Loser Asia. I was watching another channel on Tuesday when I stumbled upon this show during the commercial break. I saw the sneak previews of the show a couple of days earlier but I didn't really pay much attention then.

So, I decided to watch the show for a while until my favorite show starts. This is when this guy by the name of Desmond Charles from Singapore decided he wanted to quit the show. I know thousands of people auditioned and desperately want guidance to lose weight, eating the right food, maintaining the weight and having a personal trainer on hand to motivate you (cos it's not just a kilo or two), but this guy just threw in the towel on the 1st day. You either hate him or sympathize with him, we don't really know what happened behind the cameras and all.

I only managed to catch the last 15 minutes of the show cos I had to switch channel. I'm still trying to catch the repeats of the show but I still have no idea when. I haven't really got the chance to know all the contestants yet. They are pretty diverse coz you have contestants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand.
The Biggest Loser is a television show broadcast in many countries. It centers on overweight contestants attempting to lose weight to fight for a cash prize. There are different variations of the Biggest Loser around the world. Each country has made its own adaptation to the show; however, the contestants always have the same goal: to lose the highest percentage of weight (or most weight) to become the Biggest Loser.

Baa Baa Black Sheep Have You Any Wool?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

Something funny happened today. I wrote about goats on my other blog and here I am doing a review on wool today. Wool originates from sheep. Goat, sheep... get the connection? Don't mind me, it's 1.00 am in the morning (way past my bedtime) and my mind is not working right.hypno

I don't really know much about wool. All I know is wool comes from sheeps. In my mind I have this picture of wool being fluffy, soft and light and would be a perfect material for pillows. Other products that I can think of is the wool yarn used in knitting and crochet.

Living in a tropical country like Malaysia, I prefer to wear clothes made from cotton as it is much cooler and lighter. I would never even consider wearing wool as it would be too hot for me. One thing I really dislike is heat! I have this image ingrained in my brain that wool refers to thick sweaters and is more suitable for temperate countries.

But then, I do have to keep up with the times as these days wool can also be as comfortable as cotton. At Ramblers Way you will find quite a bit of worsted wool apparels that are soft and comfy.

I would have never imagined underwear or camisole made from wool. I mean, wouldn't that itch like crazy? You can always check out their online store and you will find all kinds of everyday apparel made from wool. Some of them would even surprise you. It does make me tend to re-imagine wool being formed into your everyday clothing and not just something to keep you warm on those cool winter nights, not that we have winter here to begin with!

If Only They're As Cute As Stuart Little...

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Victor® Rodent Control. All opinions are 100% mine.

Yeah, I'm talking about rats, those dreaded disease-carrying rodents! nailbyte

I was cleaning the storeroom last weekend in search of my Christmas tablecloth. Yeah, yeah, I still haven't found it but I'm not giving up yet. I know it's somewhere in the house but once you've misplaced things, it becomes so difficult looking for it especially when you'll be needing it soon. Sometimes I think there's a troll in the house bent on making fun of me.frustrated

Anyway, as I was rummaging through all kinds of junk, out jump this teeny weeny little creature from this plastic container. Now the storeroom doesn't have a light installed so I wasn't sure what it was. So you could imagine my fear not knowing what on earth jumped at me. My son happened to be at the storeroom's door and he freaked out when he saw a little rat came charging towards him! Drats! That boy sure could scream like a monster, I nearly fainted from the tiny rat's attack and my son's ear-piercing screams.notlisten

We tried looking for lil Stuart after that but he (hmmm... maybe it was a she??) was nowhere to be found. Good thing cos had I seen that bugger again, I'd be ready to smash it with my broomstick and it's not gonna be pretty. I know there are better ways to get rid of these pests but right now a broomstick is all I have.

If you're looking for an effective way to rodent proof your home, I suggest that you try this product called the Victor® Sonic PestChaser® PRO. If you're not aware of it, well, it's about time you do. As the name suggests, it repels rodents. You can put it in highly 'risk' areas such as the kitchen, garage, attics or basements. We should be able to see a significant decrease of rodent activity within 6-10 days.dance

You must be wondering just how ultrasonic repellents work. It emits a high frequency sound waves that effectively annoys the rodents and chase them away. With over 80 oscillations per second, PestChasers® use a jackhammer-like sound to create intense auditory stress for rodents. I can imagine the headache it's causing to those rats! Don't worry cos the sound waves are inaudible to us human beings so we're safe! Would be nice if it could chase potential robbers away though...

There are other ways to keep these rodents away. You'll find these tips and strategies from victorpest.com helpful.
  • Practice cleanliness at all times especially under stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and kitchen cabinets.
  • Keep counter tops clear of food and food debris/spills.
  • Do not leave food jars/containers open.
  • Always store dry food, pet food and birdseed in sealed containers; not boxes.
  • Clean pet bowls at night.
  • Keep storage areas free of clutter.
  • Store supplies or materials off the floor.
  • Properly maintain landscaping - trim any overgrown vegetation and shrubbery until ground underneath is visible.
  • Remove any debris - rock piles, old equipment and such.
