Now, there was this new coffee-shop that recently opened for business on the same row and I thought I'd try something different and give the new shop a chance... you know how sometimes you'd get better food and even better service from a newly opened shop trying to attract as many customers as they can.
Well, I was entirely wrong on that count. Maybe someone should hand out warning Labels to warn people to stay away from this place! While their service was pretty quick, I can't say the same for the food and drink. It was horrible!
They had quite a bit of items offered on their menu which had me spoilt for choice. Then I noticed the custom labels for their specialty, which was Wantan mee (what else... hehehe!). Since I couldn't really decide what I wanted to eat and seeing as how I just love Wantan mee, I decided to try theirs out. I mean, how bad can anyone spoil Wantan mee, right? It is after all a simple dish to make.
Well, after what they dished out, I've learned my lesson about trying out newly opened food shops. The Wantan mee came in the kuey teow styled mee, which was a shock to say the least cos I've NEVER ever eaten Wantan mee using kuey teow as the noodles! And the wantan's proper were also horrible, with more flour than ingredients.
And that wasn't all, the Teh Si, well Teh Si is another thing that really isn't very difficult to make. The only thing that could happen was it would either be too sweet or tasteless but this one tasted like drain water filtered through a sewage and then mixed with grime (OK, I exaggerated) but it was that awful. It tasted like they poured Soya bean milk in the tea instead of evaporated milk! Yucks!
Well, suffice to say, I'm NEVER ever going to try out new shops until the place is a few months old or at least more people were eating there too. The lack of crowd in this new shop should have been the first clue as to how horrible the place was. What was I thinking!!

teh si is better too :D i always go new shop too.. like give them chance kan... but sometimes.. well.. like u.. get bad food.. but sometimes.. we find gems too :D never stop trying.. hehhehee
Yeah, it's like a game of chance kan Anny. Lucky la if dpt yang makanan best2 and price oso reasonable.
If not, then it's the shop's loss... cos tak pandai masak! Haha
I like to try new shops too but it's risky I know. Sometimes you get good food and sometimes I feel like slapping them! LOL!

There's a new kopi tiam at Ikano, so we tried it few weeks back...I tried to be safe by ordering kuey teow but oh my.....what a disappointment that was! Major okay? Dahla tasteless, sambal pun takda rasa, and takde kerang...some more wan to charge 5.80...podah!!! I was so angry and the aunty had the cheek to come over to our table (prob cause she saw I didn't really touch my kuey teow) to ask how was it...boleh???????? :(:(:(

I'm reali not a fan of Kuey Teow so having that type of noodle for my Wantan was a major shock for me. So bland and tasteless, dah la sejuk... daging seketul pun takde you know... I think the fella just bubuh kicap on the Kuey Teow. Horrible!
I think I managed to eat 3 strands of Kuey Teow only and left the plate untouched. I'm sure the guy felt humiliated I didn't eat his 'masterpiece'...
Reali ah, no point to put Nuffnang? So far I have 50sen je... hahaha
But I heard from other bloggers who got paid, but they had to wait for months, some even a year or two. I bagi Nuffnang till next year la, if still 50sen, then I'll remove it la.
What PB's?? I didn't know Nuffnang even has PB's?? How to get or qualify?? I seriously dunno anything la.
Hi Nessa! I love food and I love trying out new restaurants. but if the food or service is horribly lousy, I def won't go back! :-P
Nessa, I notice nowadays a lot of people open makan business for the sake of profit, not being interested in preparing a cuisine for costumer's satisfaction let alone mastering in the art of making food. Very disappointing la these people. If I were you, I will baling the wantan mee at their faces. (pregnant ladies very emo you know when it comes to food..heh heh..just kidding..)

Would you believe I only visited the Ramadan Bazaar twice last month? Previously I would go at least twice or thrice a week... the food quality has definitely gone down. I bought this tepung pelita and it was the worst tasting tepung pelita ever! Dah la mahal :(
Maybe I shud have baling the the mee... but I did give him my most sourest look of disgust!
talking about tepung pelita, i bought half dozen at pasar ramadhan that day and when i reached home, all the isi tepung pelita mandi together in the polystyrene box sebab terlalu lembik...like water..hmm..looks can be deceiving...
Dah jadi sup tepung pelita... hehe
