Yes, really, for yawning! I really couldn't believe it.Be careful if you ever attend a court case from now on (and especially if you're in Illinois for that matter), make sure you yawn 'silently' or at least make sure no one sees you or you'll find yourself behind bars...
The 33 year-old man, Clifton Williams was locked up on July 23 and is expected to serve at least 21 days of his sentence before he can enjoy freedom again. I think it's just not right, it's crazy. Criminals get away scott free, but being jailed for yawning is absolutely ridiculous.
According to the state attorney's spokesman, it wasn't just a simple yawn. He said: "The reality was it wasn't a yawn. It was a loud, boisterous, deliberate noise and over-exaggerated stretch. It was a deliberate attempt to disrupt the court."
By right, he should have at least be warned if he made loud noises when yawning or at the very least be sent out of court. What do you think? But maybe the judge did warn him...

You know how sometimes these news reports are skewered to make it sound more dramatic than it actually is.Advice to Mr Williams... after you've been released later on, and if you ever have to attend any court proceedings, read a book in court about roofing panels or corrugated roofing... or about just anything to do with roofing so you won't get bored. You don't really need to read about roofing, you can read about anything at all, I was just stating an example ... hehehe. And if all else fails, get outside, go to the roof of the courthouse (if possible) and let out that yawn.

You know news from overseas sometimes memang cam tu kan, not clear. Manatau suda kana kasi warning, dia buat2 lagi siok2 stretching sana haha... Tapi telampau le bah sampai mo jail urang kan. Sot juga! Unless dia lawan tokeh lagi sana cari pasal kan. Kalo tiba2 tebuang angin pun disruption kali tu dalam tu court. LOL!!

As I understand this, it wasn't a yawn like you and I would do--he was a relative of the defendant and was making a point intentionally. He was totally disrupting the court, so I think he deserved to be removed or fined--but jail time?? On my dollar?? Illinois is NUTS and I live here!
